Its not that I don't love the Fall, but I do feel a bit down about another passing of Summer. So, to make up for what seems like a short summer, we're adding more mini-camp dates this Fall, starting September 20th. We are also planning on an end of Summerr BBQ with lots of food and entertainment. Plan on either the last Saturday in September or the first one in October -- weather depending. Check our events schedule as the date grows closer!
It's time to start thinking ahead -- to longer days, warmer weather and finally being able to ride outside again. We have lots of fun things planned for the next three months so make sure to check out our updated events calendar!
We offer many opportunities for riders (of all ages and levels) to expand on their riding experiences. Right now we have many wonderful horses and ponies available for lease. Our program is set up to allow for many levels of involvement, from once a week lessons on our ponies to share board leases as well as full leases.
Since the Mini-Camp days were such a huge hit this past Spring/Summer, we've decided to run them this fall!! I know, we can hardly contain our excitement! We met so many awesome new friends who have joined us for regular riding lessons, so the fun never ends for them! Check out the upcoming events section of the website for new Mini-Camp dates. We'll also be adding more dates/fun events so check back soon! See you at the farm!
Schools Out! We're ready to kick off our summer with 8 weeks of summer
camp. All but Week 1 (which starts tomorrow!!) is still open. We have lots of exciting events and
activities scheduled. Stop by the barn, call or email us to grab a spot, the camps are filling up very quickly so don't miss out on the fun!
Check the photo section...lots of new photos have been added.
Well just as we knew, Stony Meadows really rocked the show! We have a
lot of photos to share and I promise they will all be posted soon. If anyone would like copies please just see Wendy. You
girls should be very proud of yourselves...we sure are!
Boy when Steph sets out to do something she really does it with all her heart and the kids walk away with so much! This past weekend she had a little "Getting Ready for the Show" event and all the kids that are going to the 4-H show this weekend attended and walked away with a wealth of knowledge and readiness for the show. Most of the kids showing this weekend will be 1st timers (Ms. Courtney and Ms. Lacee are old pros but they also attended just to freshen up!). The kids had a blast and are ready to compete! We are all looking forward to a great day! Steph will have a food sign up sheet at the barn so when you come to your lesson this week if you can have mom or dad sign up to bring a food item that would be awesome! Be sure to check out the new "Pre-4-H Show" photo gallery too.....until Sunday, ride on!!
Tomorrow (Sunday, May 11, 2008) Stony Meadows is gearing up for the 4-H Show. How? Ms. Stephanie will be showing the riders how a real horse show is run, what to expect, what to wear, how to enter the ring and even how to polish your boots! The riders will be all set for the real deal when they attend the 4-H Show. This little "mock up" show will be a day of fun with real ribbons and "special" judges! Ms. Stephanie will cover lots of important things every rider needs to know so don't miss out. Everyone is welcome!
We just had another wonderful open house last weekend and met lots of new friends. In the photo below you can see that Eastwood was having a blast greeting many of our guests.
We also had a special visit with Animal Communication and Massage expert Melissa Merendino. Melissa has worked with many animals such as dolphins, dogs, birds and of course horses. She is a certified Equine Sports Massage Therapist, Reiki Master, Animal Facilitated Therapist and a Member of the International Association of Animal Massage Therapists. It was so interesting to watch her work and communicate with the horses. Even though it was a very busy day she was still able to do her thing! We are hoping that she will come back soon. Here is a photo of Eastwood and a photo of Kodi being evaluated;
Her work is very interesting and we encourage you to check her out! You can contact her at psychicdolphingirl@yahoo.com or by calling 203-244-5265 for more information.
We've also posted a bunch of new photos on the website (in the "barn photos" gallery and the "mini camp photos" gallery), be sure to check them out! The quote and poem section of the message boards has also been updated with lots of wonderful new sayings to inspire you. Please feel free to jump on and chat with us, the message boards are a great way to communicate so don't be shy!!
We have yet another mini camp day this Sunday, May 4th and another one on May 25th. Our mini camps are such a hit and we hope that all of our students will return for summer camp for even more fun!! Of course keep in mind that if you love the camps you will really love our lesson program, we'd love to have you every week!
